September 4th, Sophia Bentele, Rotary Exchange Student from Switzerland
Sophia comes from St Gallen, in St Gallen canton, in far east Switzerland, with 80,000 people, famous in the past as a centre of embroidery. The views were magnificent. She lives with her parents and younger brother and loves skiing, tennis and running – her family ski together a lot.
Australia is 186 times the size of Switzerland, and even Victoria is bigger than Switzerland. Her home is in the German Swiss speaking area. It was a fascinating story for us Aussies, and if you missed it I am afraid I cannot reproduce her whole speech.
Sophia turns 16 this Friday and we wish her all the best. She is fitting in so well and also looking forward to her Australian tour and a visit to Fiji with Albury Rotary volunteers. Well done Sophia.
