18th May: International Night - Greg Aplin MP
Jack introduced Greg Aplin who gave a very interesting talk about his life after growing up in N. Rhodesia, going to Sydney as part of his National Service, being a Diplomat, then coming to Australia to work in TV , mainly in Orange and Wagga and Albury. This meant lots of local involvement and eventually led to his standing for Parliament in 2003 and he still holds that seat. He told the tale of door to door campaigning when he discovered a cat and a snake having a set to. The cat’s owner rang back to thank him and then voted for Greg.
He encouraged everyone to enjoy the journey of life and never to be too busy to explore and enjoy the joys alsong the way.
